Ad from Covergirl Olay Bzz Agent Campaign |
Well, I have really neglected my blog, but being a Bzz Agent keeps me in line sometimes. I have been participating in the Cover Girl & Olay Tone Rehab Foundation and Cover Girl & Olay Pressed Powder campaign for a few weeks, and I would like to share my review of these wonderful products. I had been wanting to try out the foundation for a while, but I kept balking at buying it. Bzz rescued me by providing free products to review, and I now regret not trying them sooner! I am posting my initial and followup comments below:

Yesterday
I tried the CG & Olay Tone Rehab foundation and CG & Olay
Pressed Powder as part of a Bzz Campaign. I received free products to
try in exchange for my honest reviews of their performance. This is a
brief review since it reflects only my first impressions, but those
are very positive so far.
CG
& Olay Tone Rehab Foundation: Just as advertised, the formula
applies beautifully- only one pump is necessary, and it is easy to
blend. I like the coverage- blends most of my blotchy spots together
and it does not look or feel like a heavy mask.
CG
& Olay Pressed Powder: I tried the powder first on clean, bare
skin, and I liked the way it looked and felt by itself. I think it
could be a good "quick fix" for days I need to make a quick
trip to the store and don't feel like putting on foundation. The
powder also works well to set the foundation and for touchups later
in the day. It is not dry or chalky, and it did not turn orange on
me.
I
have combination skin that is oily in the T-zone in the summer. I
wore the foundation and powder for five hours this first day, and
there was no oxidation or sliding. I will certainly update the review
as I test the products out for longer periods, but I have to say that
five hours in mid-August North Carolina weather is pretty impressive!
Update
17 Sep 2012: I have been using the CG products for a few weeks now,
and I stand by my original statements. I had an all-day outing with
my daughter in the September heat and humidity, and I only had to
touch up the powder on my oily spots once. Furthermore, I have worn
the CG & Olay Tone Rehab Foundation with the CG & Olay
Pressed Powder regularly for at least 8 hours a day, and I am
impressed with the performance of both products. I have had no
breakouts, and my skin looks quite fresh!
Improvements?
I have to say that my skin does look a little smoother than it did
before I started using the CG products. It would be a tall order to
ask for the Tone Rehab to even out my skin tone because I have
pigment issues that are common to women with my ethnic background as
well as some small scars. I don't think I look younger than before,
but I don't have many signs of aging yet besides uneven coloring,
anyway.
Bottom
line: This is great makeup. Not only does the foundation make my skin
look more even in tone, but it does so without a heavy cover-up, and
I don't feel the makeup on my skin all day. I have discovered that
the foundation also makes an excellent eye shadow base and keeps my
eye makeup in place all day- probably due to the built-in primer. I
will buy lighter shades for the winter, and I have passed on some of
those coupons to friends and family members.
