Dragon Naturally Speaking 12.5 Speech Recognition and Dictation Software

Image from the Amazon website
As I stated in my previous post, I have been using the Dragon software for the past two days, and even though I have not explored all of its capabilities, I have really enjoyed using the software.

I know, this has nothing to do with art, right? Well, it is does, sort-of,  because right now I cannot use my right hand, which means I cannot do any kind of art. At least I cannot do the kind of art that I like to do. I have tendinitis of the wrist and thumb, and the only way to heal this is to avoid using the hand altogether. At first, I was using the speech recognition program that comes in Windows 10, but I have been extremely frustrated with this program. One good thing about Windows speech recognition is that it gave me some practice dictating before I started using the Dragon software.

First Post 2016, Hopeful for Artsy Goodness in the New Year

Well I didn't keep all of my 2015 promises, did I? Unfortunately, I have not been able to do very much typing or artsy goodness due to a wrist injury. I have also started taking classes again, but I only have one term left after the current term, and I will be done with my bachelor's degree.

Although I can't try out many new art products, I may be able to provide a review of the Dragon Naturally Speaking 12 software, which should be arriving today. Currently, I am using the built-in speech recognition program for Windows 10. It isn't bad, but it can be quite frustrating. My hopes are high for the new Dragon software because I really want to save my wrists and hands for art instead of wearing them out typing all of the time.

I hope to post many new blog posts soon once my hand and wrist are healed. I still plan to find new artsy stuff to review as well. According to the postal tracking information, I should have my new software by the end of the day. This means I may have a second blog post later, depending on how well I can adapt to Dragon 12.

Please let me know if you have any related items that you would like to see reviewed on my blog.
